a HOPEful update
  1. 1. Growth in Christlikeness
Amidst the rigors of our theological training, please pray for our growth in holiness (Tit. 2:11-14) and love (1 Cor. 13:1-7). Pray God would expand our hearts as He illumines our minds.
  2. 2. Church ministry
Pray we would glorify God and serve North Shore Community Baptist Church well in all that we do as members. Pray for gospel renewal in the church body and that God would multiply us.
  3. 3. Evangelism
Pray God would bear fruit through my church's evangelistic outreach. Pray for opportunities to witness the gospel. Pray that God would grant the gift of faith to those in our neighboring community (Rom. 10:11-17).
  4. 4. Discipleship
Please pray for fruitful discipling relationships with our respective mentors. Ben and Hope each meet weekly with an older Christian for discipleship, Ben with a male professor and Hope with a female professor. Pray we would both grow in Christlikeness (Col. 1:9-10).
  5. 5. Zeal for gospel
Pray for even greater assurance and boldness to herald the beauty and hope of the gospel to Christians and the lost (Col. 1:28-29).
  6. 6. Heart growth
Please pray we would love Christ more after seminary than we do now during seminary. Pray that through the rigors of our studies we may more deeply see the majestic beauty of Christ in His Word (1 Pet. 1:8-9).
  7. 7. Deliverance from evil
Please pray the Lord would deliver us from evil (Matt. 6:13). Pray God would cloth us in His armor that we may be able to stand firm against any and all attacks of the devil at seminary (Eph. 6:10-20).
  8. 8. Eternal perspective
Please pray our hearts would yearn for God’s Kingdom to come to earth as it is in heaven (Matt 6.9-10). Pray our Lord would hold us fast and use us to proclaim winsomely the hope of Christ’s resurrection and return (1 Cor. 15.50-58).
  9. 9. Vision for ministry
Please pray for an even clearer vision for ministry after seminary and that the Lord would guide our steps as we take courses and meet new people (Prov. 16:9).
